Wildlife & Agriculture Graduate Student Organization The Wildlife and Agriculture Graduate Student Organization (WAGSO) is an organization designed to support the interests of graduate students in wildlife, agriculture and related fields. Membership is open to any student who has applied and been accepted to the department of graduate studies at Texas A&M University–Kingsville. WAGSO was created to facilitate interaction of graduate students, especially in natural resource fields, and encourage exchange of ideas in a relaxed environment. WAGSO has periodic social events throughout the school year which, in the past, have included cook-outs, Halloween and Christmas parties, wild game dinners, birding on the King Ranch, tubing trips down the Guadalupe River, jet-skiing at Lake Corpus Christi, and many other spontaneously arising social events. Volunteers from WAGSO have also participated in CKWRI events such as the South Texas Celebrity Quail Hunt, the CKWRI 25th Anniversary Celebration, Alumni Breakfast at Texas Chapter of Wildlife Society, and other university events as opportunities surface. In addition, WAGSO has its own fledgling computer lab that is open to all members. Dr. David Hewitt serves as the faculty advisor to WAGSO. Dues are $5 dollars per year. Please contact an officer if you would like to participate or help schedule an event. New to Campus? Contact a WAGSO officer and they'll show you the ropes! That's what WAGSO's all about! |
