Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher Certification The Family and Consumer Sciences Education curriculum prepares students to meet requirements for certification as family and consumer teachers as well as for employment with the Cooperative Extension Service and other education agencies. Demand for graduates in this major is very high.
The Human Sciences Department is a member of the Family and Consumer Sciences Distance Education Alliance of Texas. Alliance courses provide an opportunity for those who live a distance from campus to complete human sciences courses required for certification via the Internet. Students must first enroll at Texas A&M-University Kingsville and declare a major in family and consumer sciences.
