We Set Trends

While attending Fashion Group International’s Dallas Career Day, Fashion and Interiors Merchandising students have opportunities to interact with industry leaders, including product development specialists for JC Penney and noted fashion designers such as Nicolas Villalba.

Students in the Fashion and Interiors Merchandising program gain ‘real world’ experience in the fast paced fashion industry through internships with companies such as Ralph Lauren Children’s Wear, Talbot’s, Foley’s, and Dillard’s.

 
We Change Lives

The Department of Human Sciences prepares students for careers in business, cooperative extension service, dietetics, community nutrition, food service management, fashion and interiors merchandising, retail buying and management, visual merchandising, education, child care and elder care. Demand for graduates in Human Sciences is currently strong in these important professions that are well suited for those who desire to enhance the well being of individuals, families and communities. Within the department, emphasis in not only placed on acquisition of basic knowledge and concepts related to Human Sciences disciplines, but also on development of leadership, critical thinking, problem solving and research skills that will enable graduates to emerge on the cutting edge and help them make significant impact on the lives of others.
